HMC ordered to vacate hospital premises by 5 p.m.

Former hospital operator ordered to vacate hospital premises by 5 p.m.

Today, a Federal Court judge ordered former Yadkin Valley Community Hospital operator HMC/CAH to vacate the hospital premises by 5 p.m. and turn over the keys to the county.

The county owns the hospital building and had been working to find a new company to operate the facility when HMC/CAH shut down the hospital two months before their lease was set to expire.

In today’s ruling the court also gave HMC/CAH five days to submit a schedule to the court of challenged hospital property, which HMC/CAH wishes to remove. The court further indicated that HMC/CAH has 20 days to respond to the county’s notice regarding its damages and fees.
