The Tri-County Ministerial Association will hold its annual Community Thanksgiving Service at 7 p.m. this Sunday evening hosted by the Elkin First Methodist Church on Hawthorne Road.

According to Sister Janis McQuade, SSJ of St. Stephen Catholic Church, the goal of the service this year is “to bring the community together,” after the turbulence of the recent election.

Justin Bell, associate pastor at Elkin First Baptist Church, will be presenting the sermon based on Galatians 3:23-4:7. “My goal is to bring it back to how important family is at Thanksgiving and that the Church is the family of God and we need to be thankful for it,” stated Bell.

The Tri-County Ministerial Association encompasses several churches including the Jonesville First Baptist Church, Galloway Memorial Episcopal Church, Jonesville United Methodist Church, Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Maple Springs United Methodist Church, Grassy Creek United Methodist Church, and the Elkin Presbyterian Church as well as the churches mentioned above.
