BOONVILLE — The Friends of the Boonville Community Public Library will sponsor 50 children with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library provides age-appropriate hard back books from birth through 4 years old each month.

The Friends worked mutually with Smart Start of Yadkin County who introduced the program to Yadkin County.

Studies have shown young children absorb large amounts of new vocabulary from birth to 5 years old. The more books children have read to them the better their future reading skills.

Ann Lawrence, president of the Friends, reiterates what Dolly Parton has stated, “Reading is a pathway to a brighter future for both our children and our community.”

The Friends of the Boonville Community Public Library are focusing on children in the Boonville Elementary School area for this program.

Those interested in participating in the program should visit the Boonville Community Public Library to complete a registration form.

It is free to the family, and all children living in Yadkin County are welcome to sign up.

Those who would like to donate to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program, see the Boonville Community Public Library or Smart Start of Yadkin County.
