Drugs land Hamptonville man in Wilkes jail

HAMPTONVILLE — Three local law enforcement agencies came together to apprehend a Hamptonville drug dealer.

Yadkinville police officers joined Yadkin and Wilkes sheriff’s deputies in a case that spanned six months, according to the police department officials. The investigation ended in charges for Edward Lawerance Alspaugh, 37, on Nov. 21.

Alspaugh lives on Cowles Road in Hamptonville.

Detectives had spent the months leading up to Alspaugh’s arrest investigating the sell and distribution of prescription medications and crystal methamphetamine.

Their search led to Alspaugh being charged with three counts of trafficking opium heroin, two counts of possession with intent to manufacutre/sell/dstribute schedule II drugs, two counts of selling and delivering scheduled II drugs, posession with intent to manufacture/se//distribute meth, selling and delivering meth, conspiring to sell meth and filing a false police report.

Alspaugh is in Wilkes’ jail under a $50,000 secure bond.
