Forbush High custodian charged with indecent liberties with student

Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Friday arrested and charged James Larry Sheek, 68, of Yadkinville with one count of felony taking indecent liberties with a student by school personnel.

According to Yadkin County Sheriff Ricky Oliver, Sheek was a custodian at Forbush High School and the alleged incident occurred on school property. Sheriff Oliver said the alleged incident may have occurred immediately after school hours.

Oliver said that his offices are continuing to investigate this incident.

Sheek was placed under a $50,000 secured bond.

“(Sheek) has been on suspension, and we had begun dismissal procedures pending completion of the investigation,” said superintendent Dr. Stewart Hobbs, as quoted by Tribune news partner WXII.
