There was tough competition among the teams at this year’s NWRL High School Quiz Bowl, held at the Andy Griffith Playhouse in Mt. Airy on Saturday, March 9, 2012. High school teams from Stokes, Surry and Yadkin counties were there to represent their respective schools.
The library would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the following people: Brack Llewellyn for moderating; Wayne Matthews, Homer Dearmin and Beth Lyon-Smith for judging; Shirley Brinkley for her welcome opening and all our dedicated NWRL library staff for their efforts in set up, registration, team pictures, scorekeeping, rotation, refreshments and clean up for the Quiz Bowl.
In addition, the library would to thank all of the high school Quiz Bowl teams who worked very hard to prepare and compete. This year’s winning team is Surry Central High School, beating out Surry Early College High School in the final round with a score of 155 to 75. Congratulations to all of our high school teams for a job well done!
