Winter Heat: NOT Your Grandmother’s Quilt
Come in from the cold and warm up your spirits with soft fabric and brilliant color. The beautiful hand-crafted quilts are made with tools and resources that weren’t available in grandmother’s time.
Have you ever seen a T-Shirt Quilt….literally made from favorite college T-Shirts? Forget about calico, muslin or printed feed sacks. These bright, bold, beautiful quilts are NOT your grandmother’s quilts!
Viewing hours are Monday thru Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closed Sunday.
The Yadkin Cultural Arts Center is located at 226 E. Main Street in Yadkinville.
The 193-seat state-of-the-art theater offers live music, drama, dance performances, community theater and children’s theater. The theater meets ADA requirements. It is equipped with assisted listening devices for the hearing impaired and special seating for people in wheelchairs.
Feb. 23: Cle Thompson in concert. 7:30 p.m. $10. Not to be missed: the plaintive blues and uptown jazz stylings of Ms. Cle Thompson. Ms. Thompson, who lives and performs bi-coastally, returns to us from Los Angeles by special request and popular demand.
March 8: The Kruger Brothers in Concert. 7:30 p.m. $20. Classical, jazzy, grassy and acoustic, the amazing Kruger Brothers trio makes complex concert hall music appear effortless.
March 16: Movie: The Ides of March. 7 p.m. $5. A 2011 political drama directed by George Clooney. Starring Ryan Gosling, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Paul Giamatti.
March 23: The Pluck Project. 7:30 p.m. $10. Nine solo performances by University of North Carolina School of the Arts dance majors culminating in a group performance staged by a New York choreographer.
March 24: The Pluck Project. 3:00 p.m. $10
April 13: Movie: Gone With the Wind. 2 p.m. $5. Special Intermission with food and fun at The Third Branch Cafe.
April 20: Shakespeare! 7:30 p.m. $5. A unique “black box” production of one of the Bard’s most popular works, Two Gentlemen of Verona. Try it! You’ll like it!
May 11: Movie: O’ Brother Where Art Thou? 7 p.m. $5
June 9: The Last Magic Show. 3 p.m. $5.
June 15: David Holt with Will McIntyre. 7:30 p.m. $15. Singer/songwriter David Holt is considered a state treasure and has been award a Grammy. At this performance he is joined by Will McIntyre on bass.

Beginner’s Mosaics – Jody Pounds
Cost: $75 – all tools and supplies included
Learn the wonderful art of mosaics. This can be started at any time – I work with your schedule. You need to plan on 5 or 6 2-hour sessions, but it depends on the speed at which you work. When finished you will have a 12” x 12” mosaic you will be proud to call your own.
Age Limit: 18+ unless accompanied by an adult
